Vermont Teddy Bear Announces The Vermont Cub Project: A Free Bear for Every Four-Year-Old in Vermont
Shelburne, VT – Vermont Teddy Bear is proud to announce its newest initiative, The Vermont Cub Project. The goal of the project is for every four-year-old in Vermont to receive his or her very own Vermont Teddy Bear. Vermont Teddy Bear recognizes the importance of giving back to Vermonters and being socially responsible, which it has striven to do during its 36 years in business.
“We love living and working in Vermont,” says Bill Shouldice, CEO of The Vermont Teddy Bear Company. “Not only are we surrounded with views of the Green Mountains and Lake Champlain, we are also surrounded by an amazing community filled with the friendliest people. We are constantly looking for ways to give back to our fellow Vermonters, which is why we are so excited to announce our newest effort.”
Inspiration for the Vermont Cub Project came from watching children in the Bear Shop making teddy bears and starting new friendships. “Teddy Bears are more than fur and stuffing,” says Abby Temeles, Bear Brand Manager. “They help dry tears, give you courage and are a friend that is always there for you when you need one most.”
Through The Vermont Cub Project, every Vermonter who is four years old is invited to visit the Bear Shop in Shelburne to make a FREE best friend (up to $39.99). Vermont Teddy Bear hopes to gift over 650 Bears in the first year.
“We hope this project will help bring joy and happiness to the children all over Vermont,” adds Shouldice. “Sometimes it can be tough out there – making new friends, starting school and riding the bus – so we want to give children a friend with whom they can explore this big, wide world.”
